FUNDING THROUGH PR
At just two years old, The18 received a critical round of investor funding. It was important to generate awareness of this important milestone to show the then-startup company’s viability and staying power in the soccer and digital media spaces. We executed a PR campaign aimed at startup technology, venture capital, and sports and advertising media to cover both the news of the funding as well as the brand promise of the rising sports media company.
This awareness from funding led to The18 being named a “Startup to Watch” by Built in Colorado along with U.K. tech publication Pivotl and the momentum from press coverage helped secure a $2M second round of funding the following year.
